Registrations are now opened. We already have and a Dutchman, a Japanese and four French men registered for the full 16 days.
We will meet Caroline Jean on our stage closed to Nantes. Later on, Marc, our mountain skater from the first edition will join us. (You can see from the report made by TF1).
The organization has tried to respect rest period and varying distances, elevation changes and durations of the steps to allow the best condition for everyone.
However, if conditions were to deteriorate, storm, heats, etc. ..., the course could be amended accordingly.
After numerous discussions with prospective participants, we reduced the distance of some stages. Tarbes-Bordeaux is reduced to 195 km with a departure at La Brede and Angers-Saint Nazaire is becoming Chalonnes-Saint Nazaire (145 km). We remind you that long distance stages are mostly on flat ground.
In case of problems, whatever they may be, you can take rest in the safety cars and resume whenever you feel like it. This event is a raid and not a race. The goal is to bring everyone to the end. The speed limit is 20 km / h.
Despite long distance rides, this raid is not reserved to elite sportsmen (as stated by Claudia Dubourg: "If I have managed to do it, others can do it too!").
To answer several skaters, we want to point out that the registration fee (990€) is only covering the cost of the 16 day raid. It does not pay for the recognition (around 4500 km ) nor the organization of the event.
The purpose of Tour de France Roller is to organize innovative non profitable event.
